About me

I am a very proud mum to two lovely energetic boys, a five year old and a three year old. I live in Thames Ditton in Surrey with my husband and two boys but originate from Ireland and moved to the UK in 2003. I absolutely love living here, but I did find having children without any local family support difficult at times. That was one of the reasons why I decided to become a postnatal doula. I remember the early days of motherhood first time round so clearly: the struggle with breastfeeding; not having a clue if I was doing the right or wrong thing; the tiredness; the readjustment of having all the time in the world to having absolutely no time for myself,  a simple thing such as having a shower became a luxury.

Second time round it was the guilt of not spending enough time with the older sibling, and pure exhaustion looking after a two and a half year old and a baby. At that time I had never heard of a doula but knowing what I do now, having one would have made my journey into motherhood so much easier and taken a lot of pressure off the whole family.

I can highly recommend Tracy, she came to work with us as a doula when my son was only a few days old and was an invaluable help to our family. She supported us in many ways in the early days, primarily emotionally but also by helping me at home, looking after our baby so I could have a sleep, helping with our older daughter and the school run, making meals etc all things you appreciate so much when your first at home with your newborn baby.I'm hugely grateful to have had her.

They often refer to a doula as 'mothering the mother' it's absolutely this and I would recommend Tracy to any new parents."

Tracy came to help me out when I needed it most. Newborns are so time consuming and in the first weeks, just finding the time to do things I normally take for granted like having a shower is near impossible! It was reassuring to know that the baby was in very capable hands, so I could have a truly relaxing nap or shower. A baby with reflux can be particularly stressful and not only was Tracy completely unfazed by it but she knew exactly how to help him and ease his pain. And on top of everything, was a wonderful help with his sisters, entertaining them while I either fed the baby in peace or caught up on sleep. I'd highly recommend her to any new mum. Thanks for everything Tracy!"

Testimonials

The early weeks with your newborn should be cherished, you never get that time back. I believe mum and dad need quality time to bond with their newborn, and my aim as your postnatal doula is to make those early weeks so much easier, to normalise things and be a reassuring presence. My doula services also extend to families who may need support with older babies, not just newborns. I can provide practical and emotional support for you and your family, empowering you as the mum to trust your gut instincts, mums generally know best.
